The Motels are highly noted for their big hits “Only the Lonely” and “Suddenly Last Summer”. The band formed in 1971 under the name The Warfield Foxes and later changed their name to The Motels in 1975. Lead singer Martha Davis reformed the band in 1998 under the name The Motels featuring Martha Davis and has been performing strong ever since. These days, she presents the band as either Martha Davis & The Motels or just simply The Motels.We at the Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism have been extremely grateful at the line up of performers we have been able to present to our residents during this run of Art Beat presented by Target. Having The Motels perform at our Events Plaza is sure to be a hit!
The Henderson Events Plaza encompasses 2.7 acres with 60,000 square feet of programmable event space with a shaded tiered seating amphitheater with seating and overflow available for 900 people. It was Nevada’s first public outdoor events plaza completed in 2006.
