Peter Tork, famously known as one of the four members of The Monkees, an American answer to The Beatles in the ’60′s, enjoyed great success with their made for TV phenomenon carrying the band’s name. They were noted for their four chart topping albums, housing hits such as “I’m a Believer”, “Last Train to Clarksville”, “Daydream Believer” and “(I’m not your) Steppin’ Stone”.
Tork went on to pursue his solo career after his successful run with The Monkees and is currently working with his band, Shoe Suede Blues, which plays original blues music, hit songs by The Monkees and covers a lot of classic blues tunes by such legends as Muddy Waters.
The City of Henderson Department of Cultural Art and Tourism is proud to present such a legendary icon in music in its Henderson Events Plaza, located in the heart of Water Street, during Art Beat Presented by Target.
The Henderson Events Plaza encompasses 2.7 acres with 60,000 square feet of programmable event space with a shaded tiered seating amphitheatre with seating and overflow available for 900 people. It was Nevada’s first public outdoor events plaza completed in 2006.
