Stephen Bishop plays Art Beat at Henderson Events Plaza

Grammy and Oscar Award nominee Stephen Bishop will entertain us all at our Henderson Events Plaza on April 22nd at 8pm. Entry is complimentary and we will have pre-show activities such as various art displays, demonstrations and local musicians starting at 5pm.

Stephen Bishop was born in San Diego, CA as is most noted for his 1977 smash hit single “On and On”. He also noted for such singles as “Save it for a Rainy Day”, “Everybody Needs Love”, “Something New in my Life”, and “It might be you”, the theme from the movie Tootsie.

He has a very large musical resume, especially in the ranks of films, creating memorable titles for movies such as National Lampoon’s Animal House, White Nights and Unfaithfully Yours.  He has also made cameos in movies such as The Blues Brothers, Kentucky Fried Movie and National Lampoon’s Animal House.

The Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism has been privileged to present so many musical talents for this year’s Art Beat presented by Target at our Henderson Events Plaza, and having a legendary performer like Stephen Bishop join those ranks is quite the honor.

The Henderson Events Plaza encompasses 2.7 acres with 60,000 square feet of programmable event space with a shaded tiered seating amphitheater with seating and overflow available for 900 people.  It was Nevada’s first public outdoor events plaza completed in 2006.
